Thanks for this. I've been resigned to the cognitive impairment caused by trump derangement on so many people who I thought knew better and I still can't believe some of them could vote for genocide because of that implanted fear. I'm relieved the blue lost, I'm concerned the red won but I am hopeful (barely) that people won't go back to brunch quite a quickly as they did in 2020.
Oh, it’s still a debacle, by all means. Trump will be emboldened, and unfortunately, I think the Dems are too tone-deaf to realize what just happened. They’re out there accusing black and brown people of being self-loathing racists. For refusing to back a genocide! This is the Democratic Party in a nutshell: it will not address truth or fact in any way, and those who do speak the truth lose their jobs or get fired from their university positions. They get shunned at work. The Dems are a torch and pitchfork mob at this point, and their absurd hubris is on display for the whole planet now. If they want to shun someone for refusing to vote for genocide, they can start with me. I didn’t vote for either major party, which according to the demented and warped liberal mind makes me a Trumper. I don’t hold out much hope, but I know this: Any left movement must first and foremost have its sights set on its main opposition and the primary obstacle to left solidarity: The Democratic Party. They have too many people hoodwinked into believing that the donkeys are progressive, when in reality, at this point, they are further right than the Republicans.
My own cousin was willing to slander and smear me in a public forum. That kind of devotion is tough to fight because these people will do anything. Pathological lying, genocide, censorship — even that smorgasbord wasn’t enough to shatter their base completely.
But I don’t think we will get to where we want to be by voting. That scares people, I understand. But while I don’t believe revolution is possible through the electoral process, those who do had better finish off the Democrats. Thanks for your support, Jana. Keep kicking against the pricks, because the only comfort we have is solidarity between sane people fighting the good fight.
