Good Riddance, Genocide Joe
Looking back at the worst president of my lifetime, and forward to the future Hellscape he's guaranteed for all of us
“Biden aims to Trump-proof his legacy” reports the Financial Times.
What legacy? His legacy as a war criminal? A strike-buster? The 1st Amendment’s Grim Reaper? Censorship fanatic? Welfare gutter? His complicity in Genocide?
Let me ask the FT another question: who’s going to safeguard us from the horror Biden has created, not just at home, but globally? Who will protect us when Trump inherits Biden’s massive censorship apparatus? Who’s going to “Biden-Proof” us? Why is a demented, diseased, corrupt, strikebreaking, genocidal madman issuing fiats when he should have been removed from office via the 25th Amendment?
This is a country where eggs are nearly $10 a dozen and the average rent for a one-room apartment in North Carolina is $1,100. In bigger cities, a studio will cost you over 1,300.
North Carolina.
Plus, few states throughout the southern region of the country have any social welfare programs worth a damn. I know because I just started working as a grant writer and research assistant for a non-profit out of Fayetteville. People in this country are far worse off than those in our vassal states, who receive billions while the homeless in the US sleep under freeway overpasses and behind dumpsters.
So let’s take a look at the Biden legacy.
In 1974, a young and eager Biden arrived at Congress, bright-eyed and bushy-tailed, and declared:
“I went to the big guys for the money. I was ready to prostitute myself in the manner in which I talk about it, but what happened was they said, 'Come back when you're forty, son.”
The rest of his career is a testament to the sincerity behind that offer. The best example may be the dog and pony show he played with student loans. In the late 1980s and 90s, Biden pushed hard in Congress to ease restrictions, working with banks to provide student loans to people with no ability to repay them. Then after he had half the nation in debt — an entire generation of indentured servants — he went back and worked with the banks to make student loans virtually the only form of unforgivable debt, making it impossible for people to use bankruptcy as a means of escaping their financial nightmares. The Guardian explains how he did this, rolling back bankruptcy protection in 2005.
I don’t know how to describe this. Despicable? Repugnant? Sociopathic? It’s essentially the MO of a heroin dealer, giving you a taste for free and then raising the prices when you’re completely strung out and on the kit.
Genocide? It’s not his first time. The next time they say Biden isn’t responsible for the slaughter in Gaza, you should remember something I pointed out earlier. It bears repeating: Biden was always an Islamophobic Zionist. In 1982, during the massacres at Sabra and Shatilla, Biden actually encouraged Menachem Begin to kill as many women and children as he needed to, and Jeremy Scahill claims he showed more enthusiasm for the massacre than even the Israeli Prime Minister. Fortunately, Reagan called Begin and told him to stop the holocaust (Reagan’s words) immediately.
He complied, forthwith.
And so would Netanyahu if he found himself facing US sanctions or military action. The post-911 American executive possesses infinitely more power than previous presidents, thanks to the Patriot Act — which Biden co-authored — and the NDAA.
I’ve also heard “Joe Biden is our most pro-labor president!”
How did he become such a pro-worker politician? By breaking the national rail strike and consistently snubbing unions and strikers throughout his career?
How deeply would you care to dive into the debacle that is Iraq? Nearly a million dead in a war of Empire and the beginning of America’s plan to overthrow seven countries in five years, as confirmed by General Wesely Clark. Biden lied us into this war and then lied about lying. Even a propaganda outlet Like CNN confirmed that. He is, was, and will always be a neo-conservative, which is why he appointed Victoria Nuland — wife of neo-con giant Robert Kagan — to handle so much of our foreign policy. This is another illustration of how disastrous our two-party system is; both factions have been run by neo-cons since 9/11.
Ukraine is nothing but a graveyard, and an entire generation of men has been essentially wiped out in a proxy war whose purpose was to fatten the wallets of weapons dealers and provide cover for Biden’s graft. If you still think this war was not provoked and that Victoria Nuland did not play a chief role, then read Jeffery Sachs’s piece in Common Dreams. This was clearly an attempt to broaden NATO territory. Worse yet, Russia had a tacit agreement with James Baker, a promise from the US that we would not extend NATO’s presence eastward. We betrayed them.
This war was completely avoidable.
Filthy lucre, blood money, and a massive scam. This is what the conflict is about, and it will enable Goldman Sachs and private equity firms like Blackwater to gobble up everything of value in Ukraine, a process already well underway. All of this, of course, is facilitated by Biden and his family, because prostitute or not, he wants his cut. There have already been major inquiries into Biden's shady dealings with Hunter and other family members, especially in China and Ukraine.
And speaking of Ukraine, why would a political official in Kyiv call the Vice-President of the United States to get a Ukrainian judge fired? Maybe it was because Biden was essentially running Ukraine. Your kid doesn’t get a half-million a year to sit on the board of a company he knows nothing about unless something else is afoot.
There’s just so much, including the pathological lying, which reached its Zemith when Biden came on TV and knowingly spread propaganda lies about beheaded babies. All things considered, he is more responsible than Netanyahu for the slaughter because, as I illustrated earlier, he could end this with a phone call. Sixty Minutes and several other media outlets have also done scathing takedowns of Biden, showing that he not only lies pathologically but plagiarizes prolifically, including the time he used a campaign speech by British labor politician Neil Kinnock as his own.
One of these lies involves Social Security. As The Intercept points out, he was Obama’s right-hand man when it came to schemes for cuts to the program. He even proposed a freeze, and then lied to journalist Antonia Hylton and said it never happened.
Crime?
Good grief, do we even need to talk about Biden’s 94 Crime Bill, which is responsible for making the US the largest penal colony on the planet? Plus his cohort, Harris, was fine enforcing those laws, refusing to release non-violent offenders from dangerously overcrowded prisons. This bill has led to the destruction of thousands of lives, especially for people of color. Before that, Genocide Joe was even pushing Reagan to ramp up incarceration.
This (dirty) laundry list goes on and on. Now, Biden is escalating the war between Ukraine and Russia while refusing to halt the genocide. Unconditional support for Israel continues. What is a man with dementia doing making decisions that could easily spark World War III? Why, with half the world on fire, is he allowing Ukraine to strike within Russia and permitting Israelis to torture and slaughter thousands of Palestinians? This week, the death toll rose to over 44,000, and half of that represents dead women and children.
The cherry atop this shitcake of graft, autocracy, war, and corruption is the death of the 1st Amendment. On June 26, the Supreme Court ruled that Biden’s massive censorship apparatus was legal, and now the administration can censor web pages, blogs, social media posts, and more. This power is getting handed to Trump.
Biden, who built this censorship behemoth and demolished the 1st Amendment, is handing Trump his biggest weapon: narrative control. There were congressional hearings on the issue, but the Dems closed ranks, and one after the other, they held forth with the most preposterous censorship apologia I’ve ever heard. One of Biden’s surrogates, that lying, prevaricating scoundrel Stacey Plaskett, even threatened journalist Matt Taibbi with jail time for exposing this in the Twitter Files (after Biden sent IRS agents to his home to intimidate him). Their censorship-industrial complex continues to thrive, unfettered by pesky constitutional restraints.
I’ve just described a man who has done everything you thought Trump would do and worse. This was the Democrats’ solution to the Orange Menace: pouring gasoline on a fire. Maybe, now that it’s all over, people will be able to actually process this information and face the fact that they supported the bloodiest, dirtiest, and most dishonest gangster for capital that has ever sat in the Oval Office.
Write your congressperson and demand that Biden stop any executive decision-making. If not, this Orwellian nightmare, this Empire devoted to genocide, forever war, the oppression of workers, and the death of free speech will demolish us as a people and a nation.
We owe an apology to the world for letting this transpire.
"I’ve just described a man who has done everything you thought Trump would do and worse. This was the Democrats’ solution to the Orange Menace: pouring gasoline on a fire." this is the most profound statement I've read in weeks. Thanks.
