Censorship, apoplectic stasis, and brain rot are the new normal
The Biden Censorship Apparatus (BCA) and the Supreme Court precedent of June 26th have given our thoroughly bought Government & Big Tech everything they need to legally censor people in our shared, digital commons. After Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey referred to the BCA as the most egregious affront to free speech in the nation’s history, he stopped the censorship and put an injunction on the program. Of course, Biden fought back, and now, the government can legally ask any online platform to remove content they find objectionable.
I got slapped down for adding this to a post, the most benign commentary is now seen as dangerous:
The internet is where almost ALL contemporary discourse happens: all the news and entertainment, verbal exchanges and blog sites we interact with, journalists we follow, YouTube channels that provide a public space for an exchange of ideas…
If we let them take away freedom of expression online, in our shared digital commons, dissent dies. This is why we have to fight to keep the digital commons free, and if we don’t, we’ll let the same thing happen that happened during the enclosure and privatization of the commons 500 years ago. To this day, it’s still referred to as a “tragedy.”
Yet no one is worried because it was Biden concocting this incubus, not TrumpZilla. So turn off your brain, flush your morality down the toilet, and strap in for more war and strikebreaking and regime change. This is the terminus, the endgame of our Faustian bargain, so belly up to the fuckin’ bar and reckon with what we’ve done.
Then, do something to change it.
Fuck yes, we’ll pay. All of us. For Biden and the Dems’ technocratic nightmare of Empire, Genocide, strike-breaking, massive censorship, and the death of free expression. It’s made everyone on the planet afraid to talk to each other for fear of a lawsuit or being hauled into HR to listen to a nitwit with zero life experience and oodles of power tell you how the world works. So we let Biden amuse himself with a Genocide that no Empire Rag or cable news network cares to touch.
This is what I meant by Joe Rogan being the canary in the coal mine. I had written about COVID and the Spotify hysteria, a massive nothing burger but an important lesson for the left because we ignored the warning of many writers. Now, we can’t even post a mock-up satire of Monopoly if it is critical of the behemoth that has its boot on all of our necks. When I tried to explain this, hordes of angry liberals accused me of every insane thing in the world:
“You take medical advice from Joe Rogan?”
”Yes, he’s doing my spinal surgery!”
Fuck me…
No, I don’t seek advice about anything from Rogan and I’ve never seen more than snippets of his show. This is about the fact that all Rogan was doing was what Oprah and Phil Donahue did for decades. If they or Rogan did anything that was a threat to democracy, I must have missed it. Rogan talking about vaccines should not even have been on the table in any discussion of censorship.
It was absurd.
But they have succeeded beyond their wildest dreams. Most people are not only illiterate when it comes to politics, but terrified and unable to reason.
We are a country in the midst of apoplectic stasis and rot.
