My response to a curt missive from a Democratic censorship enthusiast

I got this today, from a real political maven, who, like most liberals, believes that telling the truth about the Democratic Party, or even offering a left critique of American liberalism, must mean that you’re working for Trump or Putin. It was censored the first time, by Substack, so I’m going to see if it gets by without the screen captures. This is very troubling and it looks like the censorship is going to proceed full-tilt, with both parties backing it. I guess they don’t want me using the troll’s name:

Me: “You can’t read Russian or Syrian news, you can’t watch TokTok, and the federal government can now legally censor your social media posts. None of this was done by Donald Trump.”

Troll: “None of it was stopped by the Orange Rabbi, and he increased suveillance on Americans. get a grip and see reality, Magatard.”

The troll used the name “Truth Seeking Missile.”

My response:

I helped organize and marched in Los Angeles’ largest anti-Trump protest the weekend after his first election, and I organized resistance throughout his presidency. What did you do? I’ve never voted Republican and I stopped voting Democrat in 1988. But people like you, who go ad hominem and straw man and rely on name-calling because they can’t be bothered to read or think — your insults are an honor. Gimmie some more. Did it ever occur to you to actually read my blog and find out I’m an anti-capitalist and anti-imperialist leftist, NOT a liberal and certainly NOT a Republican? There is NOTHING dumber and more irrational than idiots who take a side in this duopolistic nonsense, selling themselves to creeps like Trump and murderers like Biden. What hurts more, being wrong or being owned? I’m going to turn this thread into a post, so pile on since you’re so proud of yourself. I won’t delete a word. I use people like you as an illustration of what happens when couch surfers think WaPo and cable news tell them the facts. You’re just another liberal allergic to truth. Tell me what happened on June 26, since you’re such a political polymath, and who was responsible? What are the ramifications? Of course, you don’t know, because you don’t think, but rather hurl insults at anyone who tells the truth about your party. I’m going to screenshot this now so I can embarrass you in a long-form post before you can erase this.

Do not let these trolls get away with whitewashing genocide and providing a hagiography for one of the biggest monsters to ever sit in the Oval Office. Expose them, in a documented and thorough fashion every day, relentlessly. These are the people, way more than the Republicans at this point, who represent the biggest threat to the left. The liberal Democratic base and the Obama and Clinton machines have an army of cult members uninterested in any logical back and forth. They will slander, straw-man, and smear, shamelessly and with no concern for the facts.

Don’t let them hide, don’t let them control the narrative.

This party will face a reckoning for all of the war, slaughter, genocide, censorship, and its neverending assault on the working class.
