A Few Musings on Some Authentically Bizzare Liberal Commentary

I’m working on a bigger piece for next week, but I couldn’t let this Sunday go by without commenting on what’s happening. I admit that it troubles me deeply. It’s great that I have my blog up and people are interested in what I have to say. But it’s heartbreaking to see that my liberal friends have lost themselves in the fog of the most complex and highly organized propaganda blitzkrieg in this nation’s history.

Now, I suspect this is happening because other leftists and radicals like me have posed the question, “Can you make an argument that Trump is worse? Based on foreign and domestic policy or the legislation he pushed?”

This is Exhibit A:

Again, into the fray, dear friends, into the black hole of the indoctrinated liberal galaxy-brain: A desperate man in a desperate world desperately tries to make up something that would justify designating Trump the “greater evil.”

Of course, he can’t, so he imagines a world in which Trump is responsible for species extinction so that he can say, “Species extinction is worse than genocide.”

At the time of the comment, he of course didn’t yet know that Biden would already have nearly launched World War III by October, dragging Iran and Lebanon into the conflict.

Why stop there? I mean, if you’re that unhinged, why not go all out? Why not claim that Trump has plans to colonize Venus and turn it into an interplanetary casino and brothel where the rich bet on battle royales a la The Hunger Games? In a stadium with a huge murder pit where Boogaloo Boys in MAGA hats and buttless chaps gleefully butcher liberals with machetes, turning them into offerings before a gilded idol in the shape of Ubu Trump. All while Mango Caesar continues his quest to dominate the galaxy in his solid gold phallus-shaped rocket that’s powered by the tears of orphans… Pull out all the stops.

I mean, if hallucination is on the table, why not go for the biggest and most absurd claims?

Between the preposterous lies during COVID and the red-baiting and Islamaphobia used to gin up support for more war and genocide, the average liberal has been exposed to propaganda that is more ubiquitous and effective than even what I experienced while living in mainland China.

But the Chinese are usually perceptive enough to see it.

Of course, it’s impossible to push back against the Genocide argument because there is no justification for Genocide. Ever. Not unless you twist your brain into a pretzel and willingly transform into a pod person.

Genocide, Proxy War, the most massive Censorship Apparatus this country has ever seen, and the Destruction of the First Amendment — Liberals are cool with all of it, just like they are now cool with our sinister intelligence agencies, which in the past, they had (correctly) identified as the most serious threat to our democracy.

But make no mistake: Genocide Joe Biden and the Democrats have had a very successful run. Their job is to facilitate the perpetuation of global neoliberal finance capitalism, funnel wealth to the already obscenely wealthy, and continue with the Empire’s post-911 brand of forever war. Bloody Joe’s job is to support Israel at all costs, even if it involves taking on an equal or even greater responsibility for this tragedy than Netanyahu. That’s how it should be, too. It is not an unfair accusation to say that he bears considerably more responsibility. As I’ve pointed out, Eisenhower and Reagan both stepped in and stopped the slaughter of Israeli Palestinians in 1956 and 1982, respectively. Plus, while Reagan was telling Begin to stop the slaughter in Shatila, Biden was encouraging him to ramp up the violence, even if that meant dead civilians and killing women and children.

This week I had a major blowout with a dear friend and someone whose intellect and ethical framework I have always admired. I asked her to do the same thing I ask others, “If you really think Biden is better, make your case!”

I mean, I made mine, that’s for sure. I’ve documented dozens of examples supporting the claim that the Dems and Biden are by far the worse evil in this election. Not that it matters — next time it’ll be the Republicans.

The idea is to stop supporting either.

Liberals can’t wrap their heads around this concept because our politicians and the media have convinced them that Donald Trump is the single worst threat to the history of the universe, and to stop him, laws, ethics, and truth all become casualties. And it’s fine because it’s Trump!

They bought this, accepted the bargain, and are now panicked and apoplectic at the underlying knowledge that they have been bamboozled, like a bunch of chumps at a three-card Monte game.

This particular friend, it turns out, had read nothing I gave her and just turned to straw-manning and ad hominem attacks, fabulous accusations of transphobia and misogyny with no relation to the topic at hand. She is convinced I’m secretly supporting Trump, even insinuating so. I mean, when someone says, “You’re one of those types that don’t want trans people or women on the Supreme Court,” where do you go from there? These were hallucinations pulled out of thin air. I wasn’t angry. I was worried about her. I was aghast, especially since I told her I had helped organize and march in LA’s biggest anti-Trump protest ever. I marched with two of my trans friends! She knows this!

She’d become an example of everything I was illustrating and still couldn’t see it.

This has happened because, after Trump’s election, the ruling class faced the unpleasant prospect of having someone from outside the Beltway in the Oval Office — someone they could not control, an impulsive loudmouth. If the foreign wars were to proceed unfettered, he had to go.

I do my best, and I’ll keep on keepin’ on, but it’s a daunting task to reach these people. I wish I had more to say or some kind of an idea for getting through to so many of my friends who are willing to vote for this:
